i would like to know how to turn up my IP because i have got a turbo master boost controller and i would like to get a little more fuel going.pictures would be nice, but if not maybe a detailed description, because im not to well educated on the 6.5 just yet.

should be an adjustment screw on the pump. don't turn it up to far or your EGTs can go through the roof. other than that i don't know as my truck is a 96 with the PMD, resistors, new computer instead of a chip stuff. expensive but fun none the less. :D

NO more fuel until you get gauges 1st, and open exhaust up

theres alot you can do to your truck. you can't use any of the computer chips or upgrades but you can turn the pump up. TD is right. open the exhaust up as much as possible. do you have the factory exhaust crossover? get rid of it and get a 2.5 inch mandrel bent crossover. do you have the factory crunched POS downpipe? again if you do get rid of it. install a 3 inch mandrel bent turbo downpipe. thats about as free as your exhaust can get i believe. all in all for those exhaust upgrades i ended up paying roughly $200 including new gaskets and stud kit and all shipping charges. also spend a day on my back lying on the cold friggin cement floor freezing my Censored a$$ off changing the crossover and downpipe, but it was well worth it in the end especially if you cut apart your factory crossover and see the kinks in the double wall design. or do the golf ball crossover test. that requires no cutting.

okay thanks.i should prob do these upgrades before i move on to stacks right? it'd prob be a waste if i didnt. did you get a kit from somewhere or did you get the pieces indiviually?if you got a kit where from, id like to get a hold of that.

flowmaster makes a kit. i bought my crossover from Warpspeed performance, my downpipe from SSdiesel supply, and the gaskets and stud kit from SSdiesel supply as well. the warpspeed crossover is a 2.5" mandrel bent crossover instead of the 2 inch factory crossover. the factory crossover is double walled and pressure bent. this can cause the inner wall to collapse and basically almost cut off exhaust flow. i've heard some people have found their factory crossovers to be so pinched off that a pencil can't fit through the space left. mine when i removed it from the truck wasn't kinked or collapsed at all but the 2.5 inch mandrel defiantly made a different even if its a little one.

Go to the 6.2 forum and do search for turning up the fuel or turning up the injection pump. 6.2 uses the same roosamaster DB2 pump There is whole bunch posts and some pictures. I did mine and advanced the timing and built a wastegate acuator that makes boost up to 12 pounds at WOT with a GM8 turbo ofcourse.

When i fabbed my turbomaster i turned my '93 up 1/8 turn, now i'm running more boost so i'll turn mine up an addition 1/8 for 1/4 total. Should go well with my 10-12psi boost.

This is the easiest method and least prone to screwing up your pump by taking the top cover off. Don't take the top cover off.

Turn up the fuel by taking off the small cover on the drivers side of the injection pump. It is very small, and has 2 - ¼” head screws holding it on. You will need to remove the throttle cable and bracket to see the cover. Once this cover is off, a little bit of fuel will spill into the engine valley. What you are looking for is a small 5/32" allen screw under this cover that appears through a small access hole. The screw rotates as the engine rotates so you will need to have a large ratchet or breaker bar on the crank pulley nut to rotate the engine while you look for the screw to appear in the access hole. You will need a small flashlight and mirror to see this screw. It helps to have a buddy turn the crank while you watch for the screw. It does help to remove the throttle cable bracket and detach the throttle cable from the injection pump. You may also have to move the throttle linkage to get to the access cover and fuel screw.
Once the screw is in sight use a good quality 5/32" allen wrench to turn it. To increase fueling, turn the screw clockwise 1/4 of a turn clockwise. Once the screw has been turned put it all back together and go blow some smoke.

Might be wise to make sure the breaker bar is off the crank too, otherwise it might give new meaning to "hand cranked".

Professional trade secret
Actually, if your good enough, you can pull the cover off the front of the engine to gain access to the pump drive bolts. Turn the engine till the pump drive pin is at the ten O'clock position. The allen bolt should then be aligned in the window. Only a "Pro" would know that.
(Caution: . Professional trade secret. Should only be attempted by professional experienced technicians. All others do it the hard way)

I turned my pump up a little less than a quarter turn, you will need a new downpipe the 92 to 95's are unbelievably bad, and 10 to 12psi boost to make use of the extra fuel or all you will get is black smoke no extra power or torque. I wouldn't go more than 1/4 turn, the egt's rise very fast, unless your planning on a aftercooler.

As DieselPro said go in through the side of the pump. I first went into the top but that darn screw was just so tight I was afraid I would strip it, going in from the side makes it easy to get the allen wrench on the screw and turn.

Make sure you use a good quality allen wrench or you'll round it off.
