I'm looking for website where I can purchase the GM service information software that gm uses to tell all the parts and how to fix stuff....that includes all the gm vehicles till now...I found one on e-bay but did not go past 2003....any info would be great...

I had this in my notes of things to buy from the Helm site. Shows it's for 2004, but it's also $300 for a set of CDs, so not exactly a value:

2004 Service Information CD Set GMPT04CDSI17 $300.00

Also neo5556, you might want to look twice at that thing you see on eBay before you click buy. I think there's only one guy selling those CDS and if it's the same guy (about $20?), then all he does is take a few pages from the manual, scan them into PDF, throw them on a CD and calls it a factory manual on CD. It was so disappointing that I sent it back to him for a refund.

I think I still might have my 2004 SI that I got, don't know. 5 cd's, probably going to buy a used laptop just for the purpose of installing it and it alone. Doesn't seem to like being on a multipurpose system such as my system or my wife's.

Spoolin, works 100% for me on 'multipurpose' systems.

LOL but does your multipurpose system already operate as a network server with HTTP/Java installed, dual xeon processors, and more add-ons than you can shake 3 sticks at?

It didn't like my main system, but the wifes laptop did alright. Might have been because my OS at the time was win2K advanced server, hosting from the house..

Major bonus to have it on a laptop. Then you can drag it out to the garage and under the truck. :) Plastic wrap over the keys/touchpad keeps the grease critters out, but don't block the air vents on the laptop.

exactly. Then I can look at exactly where the big f-ing hammer needs proper application.

No I don't run my workstations as servers.

:) home network, gotta do what I gotta do. In a perfect world I'd have a rack in a closet set up for the home LAN with a terabyte RAID 10 array and fiber running through the house.. Post housing wouldn't appreciate me drilling the holes and installing ventilation though. LOL
