please help me figure out if i should buy this or not. i'm looking at a 6.5 engine from a 2000 c3500 that had spun a bearing. i still have to find out if it spun a main or a rod. it only has 70,000 miles on it. he has 2 new injection pumps with pdm's, new injectors, a new turbo, and a new crank and bearings that he wants $800 for it all and he will deliver. the crank is new not reworked. he said he couldn't leave his truck down long enough to fix this engine. would this be one of the improved blocks or is it still one of the weak ones and how would i tell. i am new to diesels but work on cars for a living. let me know if i should jump on this or run away as fast as i can. i need an engine for the 95 burb and thought this might work. the burb has the 929 block in it that i could use if the other block was junk. thanks

Sounds like a good deal to me. That should be one of the stronger blocks.

Should be the strongest block cast by GM. Not as good as a GEP block, but the best of the GM blocks....

ok, i just found out that it spun a main. i'm not sure how much it would take to clean it up. is there an issue with line boring a 6.5 block and piston clearance.
