: Who has the Pro Comp Full Drop?
justinp95 01-25-2008, 02:39 PM Who has the Pro Comp Full Drop and the alingment is DEAD on? Just wondering how many are right on and how many are not strait. Im thinking about getting it eventually, but I must have something that is going to have a good alingment if I lift again.....And maybe some pics would be nice, and does anyone run 38s with there 6"?
copter 01-25-2008, 06:44 PM Don't do it..
You'll regret it.
Go with spindles.
justinp95 01-25-2008, 07:47 PM Thats the first time i heard that! lol
strokeeater 01-25-2008, 08:11 PM do the drop down kit... i have it.... the spindle kit puts the cv shafts at a greater angle, and then if you crank the bars up any they are really bound up

What.. ?
Where did you here that spindle kits have worse CV angles than UCA drop kits? Sorry but that is not right.
On ANY truck that has the bars cranked you get worse CV angles.
4" lift set @ 4" perfect OE angles (Spindle or Drop Style)
6" lift set @ 6" perfect OE angles (Spindle or Drop Style)
6" cranked to make what people call 9" = crappy angles
Here is a spindle kit that has perfect CV angles:

& here is a Upper drop kit (CST) next to a Spindle kit (Cognito)

If you are looking to run 38" I would use a kit alittle taller than the ProComp 6". I won't say it will not fit but you would need to do alot of trimming and or crank the front end up. That's when you will have the problems you are asking about. If you use a ProComp 6" in OE travel range you will get a longer front end life and less leverage on the steering components.

2k5LLY 01-25-2008, 08:41 PM I have heard that since pro comp has redone their kit for the GM's, the alignment problem is no more. The early kits were garbage, but now they are now actually a decent kit. I have recently bought one and currently putting it on myself. The D-Max is in the garage in pieces currently. I have been taking pictures throughout the process.

Collector 01-26-2008, 01:47 PM My Pro Comp full drop kit doesn't stay aligned very well. Spindle kit would keep alignment better. But "Pro Comps" spindle lift is only 5" in the front compared to their full drop kit wich gives 6" full drop. Hence many people crank it up to get at least 6" with "Pro Comps" spindle kit. Thats why "Pro Comp " spindle kits usually end up with worse angles.
justinp95 01-26-2008, 04:42 PM Yea, the only knuckle kit i would buy is a cognito because it really drops the differential a whole 7 or 10" rather then the other kits where you must crank more to equate to the full drop.
hendrixk69 01-26-2008, 08:43 PM no issues with alignment on my procomp 6" drop lift.
duramaxdiesel 01-26-2008, 09:30 PM None with mine either. I run 37" Procomp Xtreme AT's.
strokeeater 01-27-2008, 11:52 AM no problems with mine.... running 37" extreme mud terrains no problems or rubbing
iroctoy 01-27-2008, 10:11 PM Ihave the Pro-Comp kit on mine and have no problems. It has been the same style kit for the past several years. The early kits for the 88-98 were crappy but wasn't everones kit for those years(with the possible exception of the Rancho subframe).
01Cummins 01-28-2008, 01:05 PM No problems here, ProComp on since the truck was new. The installation makes all the differnece!
