we installed the heath turbo master and 2.0 chip today,:ro) love it, the truck runs great but after we put the turbo master on and tightened the spring down to 1 3/4" which was what the paper said, the wastegate arm didnt even move when i reved it up, have i got the spring to tight or is this normal?

thanks

what counts is what the boost guage says.

Arm won't move while parked, need high engine rpm oomph to blow open the WG, the TM holds WG closed until sufficient flow blows it open, since you aren't WMI or IC yet be judicious in setting TM or you can get into a high IAT area. TM regulates on backpressure overcoming spring setting.

1.75" probably too short 2.25" is what I remember for initial setting, install gauge and set for 7psi boost max cruise with peaks to 10 psi until you go with some post turbo cooling. Running empty you will get good power/response with that setting, if by IAT monitoring you can go with more boost/shorter spring, but remember to check in summer when outside temps are up also.

Chevy 9465, did you notice a significant performance enhancement with that Max E Torq 2.0 chip? Here's the website quote:
"The Max-E-Tork version 2.0 features completely redesigned fuel delivery and start of injection timing curves. Typical gain in output is 65 hp and 150 lb ft torque! Satisfaction is guaranteed! We need your e-prom ID. Call-in order 877 894 6266"
I would be blown away to even get 50 hp and 100 lb ft of torque. The first word that came to mind when I read that was BS; its way to good to be true. On another note, to get that wastegate to respond you probably have to be driving the truck. There is not sufficient load on the engine revving it in park or neutral.

Turbine Doc, the paper said if using with a chip set to 1 3/4", if not 2"s, Silvy, i havnt really drove it enought to tell but i can defintley tell a difference, if you read closely you will see that its a towing chip(but its still pretty quick, i took off at a light this morning beside another truck and in the time i got to the another light about a quarter mile away he wasnt even a third of the way there, i dont think he was tryin to race me though and that was b4 we put the turbo master master on. i havnt towed with it yet but i cant tell it has more power on top end and the throttle is a little more responsive, over all i think its worth the money,, get the chip and turbo master combo, its quite a bit cheaper

That is a generic starting point, you really need to set it up by gauges, You have those yet???

Thanks for the info Chevy 9465. I may end up getting that combo but it will be a while from now (bank account has to recharge:rolleyes: ) It will be interesting to see if that vibration has cleared up due to the chip and turbo master. Somehow I don't see a connection between the two but i'm no expert.

I may end up getting that combo but it will be a while from now (bank account has to recharge:rolleyes: )......Your only a hour drive from Westers Garage in Tilley... get a performance chip that equals a Heath chip and have it specifically tuned to your truck while your there, book ahead and get it on the dyno too for a little extra $$!

OOp's. On review of your details i see your from Alberta, i thought it said Calgary. You may be more than an hour or two away then.

Thanks for the tip CR. I'll still consider going there if the $$ is not to bad. Sorry about the generalized location. I'm in Sherwood Park, just outside Edmonton. I'll go fix up my profile. Very nice trailer pull video by the way:cool:
