I'm a diesel noob with a 2004 LLY. I've been reading a lot of good things about the Predator and have a couple of questions:
Do you have a spare stock chip in case something goes wrong? It looks like you can always flash back to stock, but you never know when it'll end up in the shop.
I don't pull often or heavy(maybe 2000#)and was thinking of using the 65HP setting. The truck is a stock daily driver, do I need a mod exhaust or EGT gauge? On that note, does anyone know of a shop in the Atlanta area that can do a pillar gauge install? I'd do it myself, but I'd rather not Censored it up...Thanks:D

I don't see a need for a spare ecm. Predator will look after you if it ever does something to your ECM. No need to worry.
You don't need to mod anything for the 65hp tune. A EGT is never a bad idea however.
Do it youself. Look up 'hoot method' and you will find good detailed instructions on how to install your EGT probe.

gtguy - I just keep the programmer in the truck...In the unlikely event that I need to get the rig towed to the dealer, I'll just reprogram back to stock before the tow truck comes (I don't anticipate this happening, buy hey, you never know) You might consider exhaust just for the sake of keeping your egt's down...I have yet to add a gauge to my truck, but come summer I'll be playing with the 100hp program, so a gauge will be going in...
Have fun with the programmer....even the 40hp program is a vast improvement over the stock programming :D

I've been runnig the 65hp tune for a month know. I'm stock otherwise. Best money I've spent in a long time. I get a smile everytime I climb behind the wheel. I mostly drive in light city traffic. Huge difference over stock.
The only drawback I've seen is the trans doesn't shift quite as well as stock, but it's about 90-95%. That's a very fair exchange in my mind.
I'm going to bump it up to 85hp and maybe see what this limping thing feels like.:D

I've been running around testing the 85hp tune today. This setting seems to run smoother and quieter than the 65hp. Doesn't seen to be a huge difference in power, but I can feel the difference. No limping yet, but haven't done a forth to fifth at wot.

dwrat - I'm not worried about it, to be honest....My truck is locked up at night, sits at work all day (I'm at most 20 yards from it), and comes back home with me at night....locked up in the shed again.....With my work schedule, I don't get out on the town much, so my truck isn't parked in an area that it can/will be broken into...Now, in some parts of our great country, I agree that a guy shouldn't leave anything in his truck......Up here though, I'm not worried about it at all..
