WTH is this for?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif I just installed my new AFE intake, and the plastic reservoir thingy is not used at all now! Why not? I remounted it for looks only, cause the top of the engine looks naked without it. Did this thing really serve any purpose, and if so, how come its not used with the new intake?.........................This makes stupid question #844 for me so far this week!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

It's supposed to be some sort of sound deadening chamber to reduce turbo noise. Maybe you could put a cap on it and use it for a canteen.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif (Guess what ever you had in it would get a little warm though.)

I blocked mine off with duct tape, didn't feel too confident in it though.. How do you explain to the service manager how duct tape got into the turbo?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

I took it off for now until my AFE Stage 2 gets here.

For of us with the old rigs (01's), you can modify the old cover that is not part of the intake, to clear the monster 4" intake!
