Anyone else find it a pain when you have to plug in?
Is there a reason why they made the cord short so you cannot pull it through the grill?
Any ideas?

Installed MARINCO Onboard Charger Inlet 150 BBI. Available at boat shops.
I used an old computer monitor cord to connect to the Inlet. It's a heavy duty cord and 14 guage. This way I did not have to cut the block cord.
When you drill the hole. The instructions said to use a 1 7/8" hole drill. I couldn't find that size. A 2" hole drill works perfect.

Nice Job!!
Marine Grade products hold up very well!
Is the access for the plug on the exterior? or do you still have to open the hood?

John Kennedy has pictures of how to route the cord so that it exits at a tow hook. I saw it on his website and followed the directions so that now the plug is attached to the tow hook and tucks behind the valance. You can find this on Kenedy's website at: http://www.kennedydiesel.com/dmaxblockheater.html

Marinco makes a plug that allows you to plug the stock heater cord into the back of the plug instead of either making an extension cord or cutting the plug off the stock cord. Actually costs less than the one used above.

Looks good. All big trucks have plugs similar to that, they work really nice.
