Maybe I'm out of my mind in thinking this but I stopped by 4 wheel parts today to see how much they would charge to install my new cobalt gauges. I have boost, egt and trans temp to install and they want to charge me $450, are they high or am I? I know its not a straight forward install but almost $500?????? Does anyone know where in south Orange county CA I can have these installed at a more reasonable price?

I would say around $300 would be a fair price for a triple pillar. I bet you could hook up with a local SoCal member and buy a few brews and get it done for free or almost free. Ask around, you might be suprised.

Sounds a little high but Ive seen worse than that, depending on if they supply pillar or not plus paint. Do they have the pillar or do you? I would try what AP said first because a lot of good guys from Socal clubs etc will probably be glad to help you out.....just dont get em too loaded.....:D

It is very time consuming but a pretty easy job to do yourself. The shop is probably quoting you 6 hours at $75 an hour or something like that. Once when I was young and dumb I paid almost $400 to a shop to have a lower air dam and a set of fog lights installed on a '92 Chevy PU. I had never felt so violated in my life! :D Never Again!!!!

not to mention you are bringing them something to install that you didn't buy from them...and they sell.

i'd say try a smaller shop.

Seems high to me. My local 4WP wanted 280 to do mine. I thought that was high, so I did it myself.
