Today my needle on my speedometer started to floot while driving. Is there away to fix this without buying a new cluster?

Do a search for stepper motor; there's a DIY in the How-To section about replacing them...

I believe it is for vehicles under 70,000 miles-- There is someone on eBay that repairs them for around $150-- There is a DIY with step by step fix- not hard but takes some soldering.:)

Answers and links to all these answers:
1. All LLY's will- V2 is the only fix
2. Steering intermediate shaft
3. Yes, they will fit on stock wheels
4. Probably a hub bearing
5. Around 0* or it'll throw a code
6. Transferflow and Titan tanks. Both have pros. and cons.
7. Normal noise, all diesels do it.
8. 8th digit of the VIN 1=LB7 2=LLY D=LBZ
9. 10, 14-16, 20ish- your results may vary
10. Instrument cluster needs repair
11. Use the 'Hoot method'
12. Install a Finger stick
13. Blower resistor and connector are probably burnt.
14. Stock intake is good up to 500hp, unless you want the 'bling thing'

:ro)):h:D:cool::exactly::lol:

Took it to the stealer and they will replace it because it falls under the recall. They was a guy right in front of me that had the same problem and he was 700 miles over for the recall. Sucks for him. The stealer said the cluster would cost 300+ and labor 200+. What an ass rape!

<--- forum member that also fixes them like the ebay guy (who I doubt is a DP member)

not sayin, just sayin! ;)

$10.99 off of ebay and about 1 hour MAX and you are back in shape. They call them the "stealer" for a reason!

Yep mine just started acting up the other day. I was doing about 30MPH and the speedo started working its way up to 140 LOL. Now even when the truck is off it's showing 60 then when I'm doing 30 it shows 90. Unfortunately I have an '03 with 80k on the odometer so no help from the stealer.

I'm planning to grab some new stepper motors (newer model) off Ebay and follow the DIY writeup posted on here. Is the general consensus to replace all 7 while I'm in there or just do the one for the speedo? All other gauges seem normal.

~TIA
