I am looking to get a lift pump for my LMM. What is the benefits of getting something like FASS or Air Dog, in comparison to say a PPE lift pump or Edelbrock 1792?

In my opinion the end result is going to be the same, you will just loose the benefits of the Air Dog/FASS that are equipped with filters. They all do similar things, add positive fuel flow to the CP3, they just do it in a little different. The FASS system removes entrained air from the fuel giving you a more efficient burn, and the standard pumps just give positive fuel pressure. I run a FASS high pres. fuel pump on my Duramax (have done for the last year and a half) and have no negative issues at all with this system. We have installed many FASS systems with filters and the owners seem love them. We have also installed PPE lift pumps and they seem to do the job as well.

Like I said, they will in the end give you very similar results, just do it in a different manner.

Thanks for the input. So my next question do you think the FASS/Air Dog system that gives the more efficient burn, and decreses the possability of injector pitting worth the extra cost?

Thanks Fire, hows that dual cp3 setup treating you? I am just trying to figure out if its worth the few extra hundred dollars to go with kennedy dual lift pumps, FASS, or something as simple as the PPE lidt pump?

The PPE and the 1792 are the same exact pump the PPE just has a different seal on the back where the wires enter. $200 for edelbrock or $900 for the FASS or kennedy hmmmm.... If the 1792 is good enough for mid 10's it's good enough for my slow rig

It all depends, that question is like asking a home loan lender if you should refinance, if it's for the short term (keeping the truck for less than 3 years) then no, but if it is longer than that then yes, it adds an additional layer of protection for the fuel system that you wouldn't get with a pump only system...

Hope that helps

Im not saying the 1792 is good enough, however I am leaning towards the PPE because of the different seals. I have found some for $ 250. I may give the airdog a shot though. I guess I will figure it out tomorrow when I order one.

Thanks for all the replies.

i am going with the 1792 i got a great deal on it from a shop next to were i work only $186 i can't say the name because they are not a supporting vendor but i figured if it doesn't last long i will get the PPE pump and i will still be under what some of the other pumps that put that much out are
