: PPE Hot+2 and tranny wear...FYI

My truck had about 17900 miles on it when FPE did the SunCoast IV. Starting at about 2000 miles, the truck lived on the PPE 225 tune. For the last 3000 miles that was changed to the 300 HP tune.

Brayden commented on the lack of wear on the clutch packs and the C3's still had the factory date stamp legible. (Correct me if it was a different pack Brayden). I don't rag the truck daily, but it sees it's share of WOT runs and stoplight drag races. Says a lot for these Allisons.

So for anyone worried about a few passes at the higher HP settings, that was my experience.

Now for the disclaimer..................Your results may vary!;)

C1's and C2's were perfect. You could see the print on them still, but the C3's had started to burn the inside up. Nothing a MikeL Snake Oiler won't cure. C4's weren't too bad either.

Results may vary greatly though :D

Was this a totally stock trans, no Transgo Jr? Would you let it shift into overdrive at WOT, and would you downshift to pass at WOT? Thanks.

Like wise we had around 30,000 mile on a stock tranny. If i remember right Eric said we were just starting to burn the C3's. We had gone through like 4 pairs of tires in that time (S/C perf.,PPE 225,300,350,mostly 300,350). So you could say i beat the $hit out of it.

Some results my very:D

x2. But it was still strong enough to toast my trans.
