The instrument cluster is very delicate and you could do a lot of expensive damage! If so, that's a lot of time and patience! May have to just do the cluster for now... Curious to know what LEDs you bought though. Max Power 01-08-2005, 12:03 AM Considering that it involves surface mount soldering in a $300+ instrument cluster I would say it is not recommended for the average joe. You also have to pull off the needles and get them lined up properly upon reinstall. I've never attempted it so Ox would be able to tell you better then me. I have been in my fair share of instrument clusters and my opinion is that this is not for the faint of heart. Soldering on the board is extremely difficult and lining up the needles is not easy (take a picture of the needle position with engine cold and key on for comparison) I really would like to know where you got the LED's BlueOx, I couldn't find the bulbs anywhere let alone the LED's, so I ended up using regular small dashlight bulbs and soldering the pigtail wires to the board. Every time I fix one and put it back together, another one blows! I'd like to go with all LED's. I've been working on this for around a year now to get it just right, there's more to it than just slapping some LEDs in there. I won't be posting a how to on this, the point was to be unique. I can do this in other colors and I may do a few others, but it's a lot of work so it will cost a lot to do. If you want it done, drop me a line and I'll quote a price and time... Ox | ||
