There are a few guys around here that have ditched there banks programs and started running predator downloaders. I don't know a lot about banks programs, but I've heard there not the greatest

ya i dont know a whole lot just banks is what my brother used on his truck. guess thats why i keep thinking of banks. ive read the predator and the edge together are a pretty letal weapon but id probably need to do some slight tranny upgrades if i were to go in that direction????

Askin that question you'll end up having a lot of guys tellin you that you can get tuners that make more power for less money. And you can, if your lookin to stack chips Im guessing your looking to make a lot of power. With that you'll need tranny upgrades, etc, etc....a lot of money. If your wanting a reliable chip with a lot of power (not the most but enough for the majority of guys) get Banks. Its safe to use with the stock tranny, and has many safety features built in to keep your truck running strong.

Then lets not confuse him with heresay.

Now, for my take on Banks...

Its not the cheapest and it doesnt make the most HP. However it seems to be the most user friendly system out there when used with the PDA.

Its a safe system, when used with the PDA that will be more than enough HP for the average driver.

If your looking run run a 12.0 at the track then look into EFI live or something else. You can stack it to get there, but whats the point? Just get EFI Live.

Any tuner is going to require tranny upgrades when used beyond the stock limit of the tranny, 100HP is 100HP regardless of the tuner you use.

I just put the six gun and speed loader in last week and I love it. Mine's bone stock except for a 4" MBRP cat back. I would've had the PDA in this morning but Banks shipped it without the OBDII interface so now I gotta wait a couple more days for that.

Price scares people away from it. I have also read where members have had a hard time with customer service. I personally have not had any issues with this. The Banks product is very safe and is designed that way. That doesn't mean that you won't break any parts with it. It stacks fairly well with the Predator. I run mine on Banks #4 and predator 40 hp. Although I did make over 900RWTQ at the dyno with the Banks only. I am sure that the Suncoast had something to do with that though.:D

ya its about 100 bucks more than the edge which is what i also looked at. ill probably get the banks for now and then once i do a transgo shift kit ill add another tuner. can any tuner be run with banks?

Some programmers don't play well together. Predator does just fine with most. I chose the Predator because it really compliments the Banks system well. The Banks has lots of power on the top end and the Predator has lots on the low end and helps the turbo spool up sooner. This is a great combination for towing IMHO.

my banks is great. it was great yesterday when my truck kept going into limp mode. i could just scan the codes and clear them. i was getting 1093s due to cold weather causing the bio to gel and plug filter.

banks so far has been great. sure there are other set-up that are better, but for what i want to do it has been perfect.

How cold is it in Portland. It was 26 this morning in Seattle and I have not had any jelling issues yet.

i am running banks on my lly and i have wasted the trans i didnet see any saftey build in like i was expecting. I does make enough power to impress most of your stop light to stop light races. I like the little amount of smoke it produces. you really can feel it turn on in the upper rpm range like previously stated. I am getting my suncoast v and 1058 6 speed tommorow. after i get over that i might look in to predetor stacking sounds like the way to go

If your looking too put more than 125 hp. in your truck the Banks is not the answer they do not... stack well although the towability of the Banks is very good far better than the Edge I've tryed them both and currently running EFI-liv and if your woundering about your stock trans the Banks / speedloader will limp your tranny 4-5 shifts any mod over 100 hp. with stock trans is a waste.

it was down to the low 20's, high teens. i don't know exactly what it was.

but my filter jelled and clogged. was getting codes 1093 and 0087. both on level 1 on banks.

i changed the filter, cleared the codes and added as much straight #2 i could. so far, so good.

There are warning signal settings you program to let you know when things are getting hot.

Even with them set, that doesnt mean you can run it on SL everywhere and not expect to burn up your trans.

The Banks still smokes. Turn up the Acc. pump to 200%. I have an LBZ, in level 6 & Sl I still get smoke. They same is true for your motor. You should be able to get better smoke then me because you can tune all levels.

Ok im going to use caps for this WHATEVER YOU DO DONT STACK PROGRAMMERS I REPEAT DONT STACK PROGRAMMERS. If you run an Edge in conjunction with the Banks 6 Gun with them together you will be getting WAY too much timing. I understand the Dodge guys stack but we dont have too. Go with EFI Live, or if tuning your own truck scares you go with PPE. Like Crash stated your going to need to get a transmission with anything over 100hp unless you use EFI Live to defuel shifts but I dont recommend that. Do your truck a favor and get 1 programmer and stick with it. IF you want 350hp over stock and what a plug n play go with PPE. If you want 100% control over how your truck runs go with EFI Live. Either of them will get you a 12 second quarted mile run with a lift pump and transmission. Feel free to stop buy www.mcratracing.com and ask all the questions you want . Good luck.
