I am having hell of a time finding sockets for 194. The cluster I have in my 1994 K2500 4x4 burb has several PC194 bulbs and a ton of Wagner FC10 (I think, hard to read part..basically a mini version of the PC194).
I found the PC194 at Rockauto.com and thats gonna work, but would prefer white 194 LEDS. Has anyone done a conversion from PC194 to LED and also what the heck is a Wagner fc10..I cant find it anywhere.
Part catalogs say a 74 bulb is required..I would agree sizewise but its like I am looking for a "PC74" of similar.
Help!

Ordered PC194's and PC195's from ROCKAUTO.COM Popped (not easy, be prepared to dig the bulb out)..bought 194 a,d 74 white led's off of ebay..and soldered the damn things into the PC sockets vacated by the pulled out bulbs..my 1994 4x4 K2500 diesel takes 6 194's and 14 195's on the cluster. Its cheaper than trying to find the 194 sockets (usually 4 buck each) and I never was able to locate the smaller 74 sockets...besides there are 14 of em..
Note tho: LED's are polarity specific..so mark the positive and ground and make sure you install correctly on the cluster..otherwise you have no light. The LED's I purchased had diodes that keep the led from burnout if you install backwards..but you dont wanna have to pull the cluster again if you did em reversed.
Result you get white illumination..not yellow. I suppose pimped out drivers could sub red, blue, etc LED's for the same effect. Me I just want mild conversions. :D

Well spent some time with a soldering iron and the 194 led's and the PC194 and PC195 Wagner bulbs..popped the bulbs out of the pcxxx and replaced with the white LED's. Observed polarity when putting them back in the cluster..the ground traces are clearly marked on the printed flex..I marked the bulbs with the positive (mine had the resistor on the positive lead, and the diode on the neg)..
and looks great. Really cant dim much tho, its more or less enough to fire the LED's or not..but look great not too bright not too dim.
:D

Mordac,
It looks like you are pretty good at answering your own questions. :)
Sorry missed this post, I could of saved you a little trouble. You could of used a Conduct Tite 1/2" instrument panel socket pn# 85835 found at AutoZone and a 194 type LED instead of unsoldering your PC194.
I used these sockets to install LEDs in my cab lights.
