I'm almost sold on the retrax tonneau but I have one question. When summer comes and I start hauling the downhill bikes they won't fit in the bed with the retrax box in the way. How hard is it to remove and reinstall the retrax on a regular basis? Also can the box be removed from the truck without taking the rails off? I know something like a truxedo would make my life easier but I like the idea of a hard tonneau.

I have had mine on my truck for more than a year. I simply love it.
It only takes a few minutes to remove and set down in the garage and about ten minutes to reinstall. You will need someone to assist you in removing and reinstalling it with the rails still attached.

The only problem I have had with mine is the RETRAX stickers would never stay on. If I had to do it again I would buy another one.
The box cannot be removed with the rails on.. not easily at least, if you have 2" hands, and a stubby screwdriver you could, simply because its right next to the bed wall.
Like smokey said, its super easy/fast, only takes a few minutes, but you do need 2 people to do it.

cid' so if I understand you correctly the box comes out with the rails attached to the truck still?
Yes, its possible to take it completely apart, leaving the rails on the bed, and take just the box with the cover tucked inside it off. But I'd not recommend it. Easier to just take the whole thing off. The rails are not really supported that well anyways, it uses delrin/nylon spacers with the clamps to hold it against the bed, and uses the actual cover/box to strengthen its shape.

Oh, I see. That makes sense now, well sounds like I need to get one of these on order.
I definatlely recommend it, its a very nice cover that lets the truck bed remain usable with larger things back there. One thing you might want to do is get a tailgate lock and a tailgate gasket to complete it.
