I have read through many of the threads that deal with the injector failures but I wanted some opinions on my rates. The following were balance rates that were obtained.

0.4
0.5
0.4
-3.4
0.6
1.8
0.1
0.3

My warranty will be ending in 1 month thus i decided to check them. Can anyone tell if these are correct or a sign of a failure. On a side note, i thought I saw something on the scan that made reference to FRP desire 5200 psi and the actual was reading 5900 psi? Does this have nothing ot do with the injectors, or just something that caught my eye. Sorry for the ignorance and any help is appreciated.

specs look good, from what I have been told you don't want anything over +4.5

If those are readings in drive, they are fine. If they are in park, I would send in a sample for oil analysis. It will prove faster if there is fuel in the oil and if that one injector is realy failing. I have mine done at the local CAT dealer for about $12.

The readings were taken as an average between drive and idle but injector 4 did not deviate much from the -3.4. I forgot to mention in the original post that my mileage has been decreasing which aided to me wanting to check the balance rates.

I am thinking about taking my truck into the stealer next week just to eliminate all concerns but still want your opinions on the rates to save me the trip. Thanks

Balance rates are NOT covered under the special policy for injectors up to 200K,
Balance rates should not get you new injectors, but each dealer is different, and you may get lucky

Thanks to all the responses. I decided it would be best to take the truck to the dealer sooner than later so I did. The bad and good news came back. The service rep said I had 4 bad injectors and because of those four they were going to change all 8 of them again.

Sorry if i'm threadjacking, but I bought my truck with no warranty. It's an 02' with 121000 mi. Does GM cover the injectors till 200,000, or do I have to have an aftermarket warranty? If it's out of pocket, I've heard that's some $$ to have new injectors put on.

If you fall under the symptoms of the special policy and your truck hasn't been black flagged, yes you should be covered to 200k.

OR 7 Years from in service date, whichever comes first.

Check your in service date.
