I have a 2004.5 LLY CC Dually , lost power , rattles like a Dodge , towed to dealer they had it 3 days got it back and didnt make it home , towed back in and now they say broken wires in engine harness , has a factory bulletin, Anyone ever had this ? Took the Edge out , Banks Cat Back/filter they dont seem to be bothered , Good news Chevy pays $42 a day if your vehicle is down overnight for rental. they dont tell you that!!

I had a similar experience. It's still a mystery.

I suddenly had only 2000 rpm's at most and that Cummins sound.

Got my truck back today ,seems OK so far , they repaced the engine harness , said there was a bulletin decribing my symtons (codes PIP3227 , DOC#1564428) showed broken wire in #7 injector Terminal , computer shuts off 1 bank , it would not go over 1800 ,maybe 2000 ,rattled like hell and would not make any power , no smoke or anything else, showed $1224.72 warrenty charges , you do not want to buy this one??truck has 31000 miles almost a year old , first problem of any kind (knock wood)

I'm having that same problem with my LB7 and i'm about to take it to the dealer and i had a six gun on my truck and i just took it off. Will that void my factory warrenty if they find out that i had that tuner on my truck.

I was at Allison trans and they saw my Edge /Juice , the Tech said he did not care as Chev has to do any warrenty work , he told me there can be codes in the computer that will tell them to look for a chip but NOT there was one in the truck , I assume he is correct , Remember , DENY,DENY,DENY They can't prove there was a chip if its not there, I have a regular Pyrometer guage in the dash so there are not wires to nowhere when I take the edge out , FYI the pyrometer seems to work fine with both the electronic one in the edge and the Mech guage hooked up to the same probe , I took many readings with each hooked up seperate and they do not vary. I also have a plate bolted in for the box to set on , a piece of Velcro on the fuse box is a dead givaway , Better safe then sorry.

Yes...good point....many forget about the velcro or better yet the clean mark left by the velcro adhesive. Wipe the entire top of fuse box of with some simple green...thats what I do.

Man.. I have had this happen on my truck.. And I'm about 10,000 out of warranty. It does it in the worst times too. Anybody got the bulletin number on this?

Brayden , I could be wrong but if you have a LLY your out by miles not time , the number they gave me on the warrenty was : code P0207 & DOC#1564428 it then says : no bulletin pertaining to these codes#PIP3227 Doc#1564428 .necessary to replace engine harness due to broken #7 injector terminal Part # SPO 097303678 -- this is right off the work order, the service advisor said there was a bulletin regarding broken wires due to vibration in the engine harness causing the failure. I hope this might help if its the problem with yours. Usually if your diplomatic and nice they will stretch the warrenty on a failure with a bulletin on it , next step is to get them to admit to it, Also for all ,the fuse box cover is $12 , got one today , now I just remove the Edge , put the other cover on , hook up the manuel Pyrometer , put the garage door opener on the velcro for the moniter and its ALL Gone!

Yeah I have an LLY, but I thought the warranty was "whichever comes first". I'll go to the dealer and see what I can do though.. thanks for the info.

Just thought I'd add that my 04.5 2500HD (all factory stock) lost rpms; leveled out at 2,000 rpms, then started shutting off (32,000 miles); GM service (out of town) diagnosed as needing fuel filter, replaced, on our way, drove ok until hit 35,000 miles, same thing again (out of town again & 20 min before service shop closing) with Codes PO202 (Injector Circuit Malfunction, Cyl 2; P2149 FICM.

Drove to local GM service on Monday, phoned yesterday saying they had ordered an engine wiring harness for it. No idea on time out of commission at this point.

Good to know about the $42 daily rental (understand from GM that it is only for 3 days).

Just learned that the harness order ship date is 4/27/05. The Parts guy will do a SPAC (nationwide search). 4/27 is absolutely not acceptable!!!
