I ordered a '08 3500 LTZ DRW and the dealer said the only wheels that come with the truck are those fake plastic chrome wheel covers. Is there any way to get the painted steel with the chrome center caps? I see them on the GMC's and in the Allison brochure, do you have to order a WT to get the Steel painted?

I think you'd just have to change the caps. I have the non chrome caps from an 06 that I'd sell cheap if you want those.

thanks I'll let you know. I want to see what they look like under the plastic covers when my truck comes in.

I saw a cab & chassis DRW at the dealer when I was waiting for mine to arrive with the 17" wheels and no "simulators" /plastic chrome hubcaps, and my first reaction was "if that is what my wheels are going to look like, I am going wheel shopping" :Moon: as I expected my truck to come with center caps and chrome rings like the earlier trucks with 16's
The 17's have (fugly IMHO) triangular holes, not the nice oval holes like the 16's

I actually was pleasantly surprised when I picked up my truck and it had the chrome covers/Simulators, (first time I saw them) they look good, are maintenance free, and you can still rotate the tires without mounting & balancing involved, like an aluminum wheel.
They are 2 piece, you can probably use just the centers if you want to.
