You can order painted handle/bezel kits off of Eric's site, but no dice on a chrome handle for the rear.

I bought a new bucket and had it painted. I then got a stick on stainless steel handles cover. I will some day get it chromed but I am happy with the looks of the stick on for now.

I had to get my escalade handles painted as well because GM didn't make the escalade in carbon metallic. They turned out REALLY good.

Here is a pricey option that I have found. $253 for bucket and handle billet aluminum from Styling concepts. Could get bucket painted, and have handle chromed... Final price = yeeeoooow!!!!

Summit White replacement looking good with stick-on stainless handle...

Some guy awhile back was doing it,chrome plating the handle. I got one through 8.1GASSER try and PM him for more information.

I had my bucket painted locally but screwed it up.I knew this guy was selling both pieces as of late but pricey.

I may have paid a bit much for my handles.....don't remember as I bought them a couple years back. I didn't know who ya were back then Eric.:o This was the first chrome/painted tailgate assembly Iv'e found, so it's tough for any comparison shopping.

everything on that site is overpriced. they have a nice selection of unique products though, and the service was good when I used them - just extremely overpriced. they're usually my last choice when I'm shopping because they are so overpriced. hopefully they'll adjust their pricing and do more business.
GMDieselTech.com on the other hand is VERY reasonable. :)

I bought my tailgate handle from JP Customs and it turned out beatiful but the handle is painted along with the bucket. maybe they'll start offering a painted bucket/chrome handle combo since there's clearly a need for that combo based on this thread.

for you guys that are using the Putco (or similar) chrome covers, doesn't that make it difficult to get the handle assembly on/off, since when you do so you need to lift the handle while pulling the bezel out, and this would reduce the clearance?

Jason told me the handle is chrome....maybe I should call him again before my order is finished.

would you mind asking if he just changed it? when i bought mine from him (6/25/04) it showed up with the bezel and handle painted - no chrome.

Cal,
its a Bully tailgate lock that i sanded and painted the bezel. the handle is a chrome cover from putco look on page 2 for the chrome cover kit.

Can't you buy the new denali tailgate handle that is already painted? Then just use the putco cover?

I was selling chrome handles and painted bezels quite frequently on E-bay for a time -

I have a friend that owns a chroming shop and he does them for me on the side... He has been overbooked lately and not been able to do side stuff for me - but if you are interested you can email me at benemk@comcast.net and I will let you know when some are available.

I also have chrome A/C vents, defrost vents, door locks, window/door lock switches, speaker covers, towhooks, etc - but only based on availability.

Check out my lame attempt at a website below... :p

I also hope to offer black chrome on plastic soon...
