tied into govt satalite systems to record your every voice and command. Can be used against you in a court of law should the need arise.

You can have your truck reflashed at the dealer to get rid of it and it just becomes an "aspirator" or device used in operation of the climate control. Only found in trucks with auto climate control.

If that is a temp sensor for the climate control wouldnt it pick up more heat from my head?

No. An Aspirator samples the air temp with air flow. It reads the temp of the air going through it not what is by it. Sometimes you can hear them. They sound like a faint air leak. My dad just had to have his replaced in his 8.1 suburban.

Just as what was stated above. The mic for the OnStar is the little black thing on the side of the center overhead console. The thing that looks like a speaker above the drivers door is for the climate control.

In the NBS, the mic(s) are behind a small set of louvers in the little overhead area. No more exposed black pods.

He didnt need to get it replaced he could have removed the plastic cover then blew it out. thats what i did and it has been quiet ever since.
