 I have an 03 LB7 and my brother has an 04 LLY-we pull a race car trailer that weighs approx. 15000 lbs. loaded. which programmers should we use on each truck. looking for SAFE towing power and to maximize fuel mileage. My 03 LB7 has a superchip that's set on the lowest setting, I believe it's called safe tow.
Don't want to tear up our trucks or race them, just want to be able to tow better and with better mileage. Thanks

The Diablo Predator for the LLY. The LB7 wil also do well with the Predator if it is a tuner that you desire. Otherwise, the Edge Juice std. or Van Aaken Smart box work very well.

I vote with Kennedy on the LLY. Just don't crank up the Predator. It does not have protection built in like the Juice/Attitude. I still prefer the Juice/Attitude 1st on the LB7.

I still prefer the Juice/Attitude 1st on the LB7.
Did you ever get to try a VA box??

I have BD EZ AMP made by edge 30-90 settings. Tow 38 foot toy hauler over 15k #'s tow on level 2 sails like a dream.

If your planning on towing that heavy I would think number one is an Exhaust Temperature Gauge and number two would be less restrictive exhaust. Then a power chip.

You wont make up the $ difference in milage even if you do pick any up.

If you want or need more pulling power and want something thats 100% totaly safe EGT wise and you dont want guages or to need to look at gauges anything on its lowest power level will work. Some programs add more HP with less EGT's comparitave to others and have better manners. You probably wouldnt notice unless you ran differnt programs before though.....Some have nicer features ect. I have Steve Coles(TTS) programing and its super nice. It runs cool egt's when its not set to kill, the 80hp tune runs much cooler than the juice. I hear he has a great tow program for the LLY. But his stuff is a bit more pricey than some others. Most chip manufactures crank out something as quick as possible and basicly let the first batch of users be the Beta testers. LLY is new so there is still quite a bit of refining yet, the programs should get better in time. TTS dosnt take this approch hence why he only has one tune out there for the LLY and soon will be releasing another. My recomendation since for both of you it just sounds like you want a tiny bit of kick and pulling power. You keep the program you have and leave it on the lowest level unless you keep having wierd or annoying issues that the CO. wont fix for you. Have your brother buy any program(might as well be cheap) and run it on its lowest level. If he runs into wierd issues then have him contact and ride the manufacturer to get the bugs worked out, get the updates to the software when they become available.
