What is the difference between the factory LT245/75R16 E rated @ 3042 and say a LT315/75R16 D rated @ 3195? The LT315/75R16 is a D load range but because the tire is larger than the LT245/75R16 it is rated higher correct? I know this is a stupid questions but I just want some clarification on it.

I think it has to do w/ the larger volume of air inside the tire to dissipate the heat.
U also have less weight/sq. in. on the tread, this also creates less heat.
I posted the specs on these size tires before and the bigger ones carry more weight w/ LESS air pressure so u should get a better ride at max inflation w/ the bigger tires.
