I'd like to put a visor on my truck because I personally really like the visor look on the newer trucks, and this way I could also get clearance lights with it. Lund is about the only manufacturer I've found.
Is there anything I need to know before adding one? I'm open to any advice!

It will add wind noise, vibration and probably cost you fuel mileage.
There is another company out there that makes them but I can't remember right now.
A friend of mine has the lund lunar IIRC and he really likes it. I can't stand the extra wind noise but it doesn't bother him.

Max,
Your speed amazes me. Are there any long-term affects? I've heard some guys say that the visors will eventually crack your roof out.

Not that I am aware of.

I had a lighted visor on my last truck, a 93 z-71, I kept it and gave it to my son when I got my 2004. Max is right you will have a lot of noise, I don't know about mileage as I always got 18-20mph with the 6.2 empty. The only down side is everytime I had to change windshields,(about 4 times in ten years) The windshield people would not touch the truck until I took the visor off and they said that I would be responsible for any leaks, I always put sealant around the mounting screws and never had a problem. Just something to think about, Oh yeah, I did not put a visor on the 2004 D/A, just to much hassle for the benefits of a little shade, I just had the upper portion of the the windshield tinted and it works great.

I Have One On My 1999 Suburban And I'll Give It To You If You Want It!!!
Like Others Have Said Alot Of Wind Noise In An Otherwise Quiet Vehicle!
I'm Running Around With A Cracked Windshield Because My Local Glass Man Doesn't Want To Touch It, And The Body Shop Wants A Hour ($$$) To Take It Off And Put It Back On Again.
In A Strong Wind (Headwind Or Crosswind) At Interstate Speeds The Visor Bounces The Suburban Around! I Don't Mean Dangerous But It Is VERY Annoying!! My Wife Won't Drive It!! (Thats Not All Bad Is It???) And My Suburban Is A Fairly Heavy Vehicle.
This Is The First Vehicle (and Last) That I've Ever Put One On A Yes They Look Good But Be Warned By What People Are Saying Here!!!
See Ya!

I have one on my 96 Z71 and one came on my old 86 when I bought it and that's why I got the one for my Z71 because I love the looks and don't mind the wind shaking. I have the radio on all the time and with the exhaust I don't notice anything. I think it just sets the truck off, It's like person with a baseball hat on that never takes it off. I'm going to put one on my HD when I get one because it looks like the truck is bald or has it's head shaved without one.

I have a lunar on my truck, if you get one make sure they drill the top of the roof in the center of the visor and screw it down. The sticky pads drove me nuts as it did rattle too much that way with no fastners other than 3M tape. The lunar is much tighter fitting, aerodynamic, and does not get the rattle like you would from a moonvisor...at least that's my observations.

Had it on before the first tank of fuel was gone so I don't know if it affected my fuel milage or not. The little bit of wind noise that you might get from it isn't bad compared to the rattle in my dash my dad pointed out that is driving me nuts! Of course he says just turn the radio up then you won't notice it.

That's different looking than the other lunar visors I've seen, I wonder if they changed them. Looks good.
