What is the best exhaust system for a 2006 2500hd???? I know that it's personal opinion but I'm new to the diesel scene and I don't know if I need 4 or 5 inch, cat or turbo back...... Thanks guys

I have a 4" Magnaflow on my 07. I like it. I did a turbo back w/ cat delete. I kept the Magnaflow muffler. I will probably delete it, just haven't gotten around to it. Don't know much about the other brands. I've heard a lot of good things about MBRP and Silverline. If you go Magnaflow, don't get the one w/ the lifetime warranty. I did and it doesn't look very good. It is the one w/ the welded on tip. Magnaflow runs the tailpipe almost flush w/ the end of the tip. It is very noticable and a lot of people asked if something was wrong w/ it. Cut it off and put a 6" tip on.

Corsa 4" Catless DownPipe back!!!

When I am ready to buy another vehicle, one of the determining factors will be if Corsa makes and Exhaust for it or not.

Nothing sounds like a Corsa!! :)

I have a turbo back 4" Flowmaster and it sounds and looks great. If you can find a way to listen to the different systems it would benefit you. Find what you like, they all range from 375 to 700 bills. Mine was 470. My friends have same, so I knew what I wanted. It sounds awesome as usual with Flowmaster.

I've got a 4" MBRP cat-back and love it. Not too loud but more rumble than stock. Nice on the highway too, very little noise or drone and a-ok with the family.

Do a search on exhaust- there are some good polls out there on which systems are popular.

Any Catback from pretty much any company will be ALMOST as quiet as stock.

When you take out the Cat, that's where the different in-cab / outside noise levels REALLY come into play.

I'm very happy with my 5" MBRP Turbo-back with 5" Magnaflow low-restriction Cat (Nevada smogs light diesel trucks). The truck will climb uphill in idle if I don't keep my foot on the brake. The tail pipe looks great (see my garage) and removes all doubt as to what's under the hood.

No one makes a dual 5" kit as there is not enough clearance for a 5" pipe to cross over the pumpkin for the drivers side. Your choices are 4" cat-back duals, or 4" down-pipe back duals. If you want 5", cat-back and down-pipe back are also available in single systems only.

I run Bank's cat-back. Barely a noticeable sound difference from stock, which is what I wanted. What I don't like about it is that the pipe doesn't look so good after a couple winter's in the Northeast, if I ever buy another it will be all 304 for sure.
