CS-Dmax,

I bought the last batch from Walt Mart about six months ago for 50% off and they said Shell stopped producing this product. I looked for another source at Rotella.com and it is not listed as a product anymore. DFA was around for less than two years., I wonder why.

Hi-
Rotella DFA is good stuff. It is very hard to find. I have found it in some Wal-Mart’s in Tennessee and Western NY. I emailed Wal-Mart about the distribution. They just replied yesterday that I should ask the local store manager to stock it.

Apparently there is a large product line available through the Wal-Mart distribution and it’s up to the local store managers to decide which product lines to stock.

Rotella DFA is a demulsifier and has ingredients very similar to Stanadyne. I have used both and I like the Rotella better.

I just posted over on the rotella website's bulletin board - asking whether rotella dfa has been "discontinued". I'll ping ya back when I get an answer - the Rotella engineer usually gets back with an answer pretty quickly.

I have been unable to find rotella dfa locally as well. I have been using stanadyne lubricity formula and blending it with stanadyne performance formula in winter months. I use 1.5X to 2X dose depending on how I feel. The lubricity formula is very cost effective - one 16 ounce bottle treats 120 gallons and costs 20% less than the same amount of performance formula (which treats 60 gallons of fuel). It's around $50 for a case - that works out to 4.33 a pint.

I buy my stanadyne lubricity formula by the case from usdieselparts.com; They have good prices and quick shipping - they are located in montana so shipping to you in colorado will be quick and cost effective.

Rotella DFA is hard to find. I bought 3 cases of 6-1gal. containers last winter. I have not bought any since as I still have 3 containers left. I could only find it from a local oil distribution company. funny though when I opened the first case all the containers had walmart price stickers. good stuff ,I hope its still available.

We stock Shell DFA as I have some Industrial accounts that use it and I use it in my DMaxs. I am not aware that Shell has discontinued this and its always been very readily available. GMDieseltech.com [ dmaxallitech on here] may offer it though it was not on his website the last time I looked. Send him a message and he will let you know.
