: buying HP tuners
racinmike77 01-17-2008, 12:38 PM I really want to buy HP tuners because of the wide variety of cars supported and I know they will release dodge and ford stuff soon, but it doesnt seem like anyone is making any big power like EFI live or PPE?
Whats the deal?
CRASHNBURN 01-17-2008, 02:21 PM Hey Mike,
Right now you can tune some ford's. Dodge support is coming. They are soon to go to beta with the allison tunning. I think that will help people wanted to run the bigger tunes. I bet pretty soon people are going to start making big power with hptuners. I have a stock tranny so I am not going to tell you I run big powertuner, but their are guys out there. There are gasser out there running big hp tunes also. I really like used it. It is very easy to use.

racinmike77 01-17-2008, 05:41 PM will powerstroke and cummins tuning be available soon, and can power be made on the dmax like efi live has shown is possible?
CRASHNBURN 01-17-2008, 05:50 PM Powerstoke will be availible before the cummins. They are mainly Gm based, but they Ford tuning is in the works & the dodge stuff will come after. There are guys on this board that are making some big tunes with it.

We're currently taking the PSD tunes through support at hptuners.com so we can get as full a release as possible, you'll be able to read them out without having to license the vehicles but won't be able to tune them until we get the definition files added to our database which we expect to start on soon.
Power can be made I just think its a matter of more hpt guys stepping up and toying with things like the efi guys did early on and now are reaping the benefits of said experience, we've pretty much got all the same tables as them so its just a matter of doing the same as they are ;)
trentnell 01-17-2008, 06:47 PM I have made some really big tunes , enought to slip my tranny in 2nd 3rd ,and in 5th at will , when I upgrade my tranny I will have dyno #'s but right now I dont dare put that much stress on my tranny, I have the demmo version of efi live to compare tunes and they have most of the same tables and the ones it doesnt will never limmit the power you can make, buy it its a great product for the money. if any one ever needs some help tuning pm me, I've built some great race tunes and some good towing tunes, but I will not just give them out any more without chating with some one i gave a guy a couple tunes that ended up owning a performance shop that i think was selling them ! I have a ton of time to get some of those tunes right tweeking & logging my race tune took a month to get right.
