The heat seaters I have say this:
2) Can the remote starter automatically turn on the seat heater system ?

If the remote starter is equipped with an output that provides a rising edge pulse, then the remote starter can, in essence, press the membrane switch for the user. One pulse will cause the system to go into “HI”, another pulse “MED”, another pulse “LOW”, and another pulse “OFF”. Sometimes the key fob that comes with the remote starter has a button for accessories. The remote starter can be configured to generate this pulse every time the key fob’s accessory button is pressed. Setting up the remote starter to automatically start the heater is probably not a good idea without the key fob approach. Otherwise the heater would then be on every time the car is started, even in the hot summer.

The switch harness has an orange and a white wire shorted together behind the switch. As long as this short remains intact, either the orange or the white wire will activate the controller. It is important that the orange and white wire remain shorted together. Connect the rising edge pulse output from the remote start to either wire.

Can the Astrostart do this?

I take it you have aftermarket seat heaters. All I know is that the seat heaters in my truck are activated through a signal on the Datalink from the Astrostart. I'm at a loss for your situation.

I am going to install seat heaters. I can either get a mid-level system with Hi/Off/Lo. I could leave it on hi and when I start the truck with remote they would be on. Or I could get a premium setup that has Hi/Mid/Lo/Off, but they require the special signal.

Thats only on the LMM's, but you can have it setup that way on the older trucks its just not cheap.

Mine's an LBZ. The datalink controls both the doorlocks and the heated seats. I know I have 2 modules that control everything. I'll post more info after I look into it more...

On my 2004 - there's a blue wire running to the DDCM that when energized will turn on the heated seats - you can use an output from the Astrostart to control a relay that will pulse that wire via an accy output off the remote module controlled by the Keyfob or the remote or program it to automaticly do it after the truck starts with the remote start.

My Astrostart uses the IOM-GM-3 module to send a data signal down the line to turn on heated seats if the engine temp is below 32F. Sad part is, it turns them on LO. Not to hijack the thread, but does anybody know of a way to change it to make it turn them on HI?
