: Fabtech reduced offset spindles
Donovan 01-16-2008, 04:37 PM I called fabtech earlier today and got some info. For those of you with the old school Fabtech 8" kit that want to narrow the front end up a bit, there is an upgrade kit which includes new spindles and thinner CV spacers which narrow the front track a bit. The Fabtech P/N is FTS21059.
_nar_ 01-16-2008, 05:34 PM That's good.
roscoj 01-16-2008, 06:15 PM How much more narrow are we talking?

I think it's a couple inches..... If someone with the new kit can measure the width of their cv spacers we can get it figured out exactly.
nickthedck 01-16-2008, 07:03 PM Damn...now i gotta spend more $

That's what I'm saying. I am stuck between doing the 5k upgrade to their coilover kit though which includes the new spindles.
Performance 01-17-2008, 06:19 PM The old kit increased the front track width 1.75" per side, the new kit only increases the front track 0.50" per side. I got these figures directly from Fabtech when I was looking into my kit. You can look in my garage to see installed pics.:thumb:
nickthedck 01-17-2008, 07:21 PM That looks good.. I'd like to see it on on Classic too.
radvans 01-17-2008, 09:38 PM Is it available for the 6" lift? I hate the track of the front on mine.

Are those the cognito UCA with your fabtech ?
madmax982 02-02-2008, 02:27 PM Just a reminder if you change to the narrow style remember that the back spacing changes, so you wheels may or may not fit. I know that the old kit is a max of 4 5/8 back spacing. I dont know what the new one is, but i know stock wheels wont fit the new kits. You make be the same trace with by tha time you get wheels with less back spacing. Correct me if im wrong.
iokua80 02-03-2008, 10:17 AM With the 8" fabtech it comes with new UCAs and upper ball joints. Everything went well installing the kit. Took me and 2 buddies about 12 hours to do it but we also took about an hour for lunch and about an hour for dinner. So it really took about 10 hours.
The backspacing I think is the same as the older kits. It's 4 5/8" backspacing for a 17" wheel. And no you can't use stocks as i remembered that after the kit was put on and didn't have my 37s until monday. (The lift was put on sat haha)

So the reduced offset spindle kit (for $400) came with new UCA's and balljoints, spindles & spacers? Or are you speaking of a new kit?
iokua80 02-15-2008, 09:43 AM I'm talking about the whole suspension kit. It was the 8" lift and it came with new UCAs

SSTuner 08-11-2011, 03:55 PM The old kit increased the front track width 1.75" per side, the new kit only increases the front track 0.50" per side. I got these figures directly from Fabtech when I was looking into my kit. You can look in my garage to see installed pics.:thumb:
Can you add a picture of your CV spacer when time permits. (yea, I know this is an old thread)
I also wonder if the Fabtech spindles will work inplace of another manufacturers lift kit.
TheLS1Kid 08-11-2011, 05:12 PM I just installed these spindles. Took measurements before and after from the inside lip of the left wheel to the inside lip of the right wheel.
New spindles tuck the wheel in .75" on each side from where the old Fabtech spindles stuck them out.
TheLS1Kid 08-11-2011, 05:14 PM Also I called Fabtech and they say to run no more than a 5" maximum of wheel backspacing.
