Ok the deal is i have an aftermarket kenwood deck in my truck and i have to tear apart the dash and unhook the head unit everytime i want to change tunes or do anything with the predator. Do i have something hooked up wrong with the head unit? The tune will take everytime i unhook the deck completely... any thoughts?

I have to unplug the power to my SIR GM-1 tuner, as well as pull the radio and info fuses. Does your head unit power through the stock harness, or have you tapped into another power source? Can you put a switch in your radio power lead?

Would a switch fix the problem? Seems almost too simple.
i have a kenwood head unit also, but no problems with predator reprogramming

Does your HU power up an aftermarket amp as well? I've found the Predator doesn't like extra current draws during programming.

I do have an amp but the only connection to the HU is the remote wire... is that the culprit?

Don't know for sure, you could easily test by pulling the amp fuse.
