Hey,
Im new here and I am on the verge of ordering a new 08 D-Max to replace my 96 Cummins. Laramie GM in Laramie WY offers what they call the "7220 Edition". Basicly dealer mods including Billet type grill, off road tires, and a leveling kit. I was told by a sales rep. the leveling kit they use is a 2 inch body lift of some type. Could this be correct? A body lift under the front half of the truck?

Im thinking of just ordering what I want and adding a 4 inch Rancho suspension lift. What kind of problems have been associated with lifting these new Chevys? I dont want to go any taller than 4 inches of lift. I was thinking of going with 33 or 34 inch Buckshots on the stock wheels.

Thanks for any information.

Body lift sounds fishy, especially from a dealership, even more if it's a diesel. You didn't give a price, but I'm sure they want allot for those upgrades. You're better off getting everything yourself or having everything installed at a local shop.

A little more research and I found that Laramie GM is using the Truxx Lift? I wondder if 34 inch Buckshots (305-70-R17's) would fit under this setup with stock wheels?

I think that would be close... I've got 285/70/17's on some H2s and mine rubs pretty good with a crank of the t-bar, I have green keys (same as truxx) to install but that will only help a little with flat driving, if the front suspension compresses at all and the wheel is turned it will still rub with my 285's. The backspacing may be different on my h2's than the stockers.. I can check when I get a chance if you want. If I remember correct even the truxx website says no larger than a 285...
