Ok. Had the day off today and we're waiting on a big snowstorm. Figured I'd do my 10,000 mile service. Rotated tires, changed oil/filter, installed the Fumoto, lubed chassis, changed my fuel filter, and spent about an hour cleaning my interior after my 5yo dumped a cup of hot choclate into the rear seat armrest.

Anywho, here's some questions.

1. How do the front lug nuts get corroded while the rear ones are still shiny? The fronts are rusted and corroded to the point that the 22mm socket is a little snug.

2. Who's the moron who designed the fuel filter location? First I couldn't get my strap wrench on it. Solved that problem by putting Merchant's spacer on. Now, with the spacer on, I can't get the fuel filter to come from the top. I finally got it from the bottom after the zip-lock bag I was using sprung a leak from one of the fuel line clamps. Oh Joy..

3. Any idea where I can get a filter cutter? Interested on how the filter looks.

Anyway, it was a learning experience...

filter cutter?? I used a cut off wheel on a die grinder and cut a hair below the top (just the skin), then just pull it apart!! Or, if you want to be real fancy, you could get a big exhaust cutter...

You can get a filter cutter from Summit Racing. The one I have works fine on both the oil and fuel filters. Works just like a big tubing cutter.

Take off the intake tube. That makes the fuel filter super easy to work on. It is just 2 hose clamps.
