Is anyone familiar with this filter? It is a Parker Interceptor fuel filter, extra long. The specs are:

Genuine Parker 'Interceptor' spin-on type fuel filter (#R05168) replaces original equipment GM diesel 2-micron fuel filter.
GM part number 97363539. NOTE: This is a long can version; make sure it will clear all components under the fuel filter.
Height: 9" Width: 4"

I haven't heard of this, but would look into whether or not you have the clearance to fit it. I am not sure of the specs of the stock filter, but I would guess it is around 6-7 inches. If you have a link, please provide it.

I do not know anything about this filter. I recently bought a 2005 Chevy and it has this filter on it. I did a search on the internet for it without much information. There was a listing on eBay for them and that is where I got the info on the size. The site is listed below. Anyone else with any info on this filter?

I am not sure about that filter number (R05168) from Racor. The stock OEM Parker Racor filter that replaces the factory original is PFF5544. Maybe a call to Parker will tell you if the R05168 is a direct replacement, just the canister being longer. If that is the case, it should be OK. Also, I did some research for you and found that the stock filter is about 5 inches in length, and about 4 inches in circumference. Here is a link.
