: POLL: Your bar crank ONLY, w/o keys or UCA's gave me___inches.
Jason Duramax 01-11-2008, 08:31 PM Exactly how much does it vary truck to truck? Let's see. Give a quick MAX number on lift height gained with ONLY the bar crank WHILE keeping within reason (the suggested 3/4 or so inch of UCA clearance). No technical info, that is all over this site. This is just to see the varience truck to truck, year to year. No tire sizes, no other modifications, no MINOR cranking, just your best gained height cranking the bars while keeping the uca stop distance in order. Simply shoot the number.
Turfmower 01-11-2008, 08:36 PM Measured to the top of the wheel well opening, then lifted the plow and cranked them till it was the same.
Jason Duramax 01-11-2008, 08:40 PM The number of inches gained on your maximum but reasonable crank using no other keys or parts, as in 2 inches, etc...where ever you measured from before and after...
schulte 01-11-2008, 08:44 PM 'Might wanna add an actual poll to this if you still can; if not, PM a moderator and ask them to if you want... 0.5", 0.5-1", 1-1.5", 1.5-2", 2"+, etc.
Mine's raised about 2-2.25"; I haven't measured, but I can say pretty accurately based on how the tires fit.
Jason Duramax 01-11-2008, 08:54 PM I was going to, and specify the '03-'07 classic GMT800 chassis, but I figured in a poll, there would be some older/newer truck owners who might throw the data off with different trucks. This way I thought ALL truck owners could see what truck the number applies to a bit easier, then compare that truck with thier own...
Robertg 01-11-2008, 09:23 PM I can't give you the before numbers because I didn't measure. Right now with shock extenders and 32.6" tires I am at 41 3/8". I have to be around 2" and I can still stick my fingers between my UCA and the stop. I could measure between the fender and the center of the wheel if you want.
_nar_ 01-11-2008, 09:27 PM Stock keys cranked as far as they can go got me about 2 1/4 inchs. Couldn't go any farther without getting too close to the stops and compromising the ride anyway.
Jason Duramax 01-11-2008, 09:29 PM HA! I thought everyone measured thier first time. Good to know not everyone has OCD.
Josh F 01-11-2008, 10:26 PM 1.5" for me. Passenger side t-bar is maxed while driver side is less than half way and truck is exactly the same height on both sides. Plenty of clearance still - probably an inch or so.
13Fox 01-11-2008, 11:46 PM 5 turns on the driver's side, about 61/2 on the passenger to level it. Gained about 1 1/2 inches, still can easily get my fingers between the stop and uca.
ElCaminoManT 01-12-2008, 12:40 AM just shy of 2 inches on mine, only added shock extensions. it takes a fairly large drop out or intersection "jump" to contact the UCA drop stops
Jason Duramax 01-12-2008, 02:35 AM Now we're getting the idea, see how much fun it is?
