: Stuck in park?

I started my truck this morning and moved it around in the driveway then got out moved a couple of other vehicles, got back in and couldn't get it out of park? It was -15c, I looked underneath and found no ice buildup on the shift cable. After five or so minutes it finally came out of park. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like a problem with the electrical shift lever release at the brake switch above brake pedal.

I did that once in a customers car ( brain dead at the time) and he had to remind me to hit the brake:rolleyes: ):h . I think he silently gave me the Big Duh.):h He did trust me with his trans rebuild though.:D Guess he figured if I could make it shift, he would handle the technical stuff.):h

I have had it ice up a few times so I couldn't shift it past Neutral. It is possible for it to be iced up enough that it won't shift out of park. You'll need to pull it in a shop for a day or so if that happens. I have had it happen on almost every vehicle I have ever owned.
