Ok.........8900 miles. Bought new, changed the oil and filter after a few hundred miles to Shell Rotella T, drove to Cabo, MX the week I bought it, spent a total of 2 weeks in MX, came back and changed oil and filter again. Trip to Cabo was nearly 6000 miles..........most on non ULSD Pemex (once away from the border, there is no ULSD in MX yet) and a bit of it on the B1K course in 4wd. No problems, no issues. Ran flawlessly the entire time. I got 2 mpg better on Pemex Diesel than US diesel and did not notice regens occuring more often, or anything. I was probably hauling 1500 lbs between the bed, cab w/ seats up, and a hitch hauler........two bikes, tools , gas cans, genny, pit stuff, luggage, food, adult beverages, spare parts, spare wheels and tires for the bikes, hi-lift,shovel, ax, all that kind of stuff.

All in all, I cannot complain one bit.

1200 miles, since Thanksgiving, I'm racking them up:D! It did spend 10 days in the body shop due to a rear bumper incident. So I probably would have put at least another 150 miles on it. Averaging 15.5mpg now Hand Calc. About 50/50 hw/city. I'm very pleased. Chris

that's what I thought, but that is what my dealer came up with too. It seems excessively high amount of depreciation to me, but 50,000 is a lot of miles in 8 months.

Damn, that's a lot of miles on that cummins. Did you have any issues with your DPF? They say those things are only good for about 100k miles before they need some kinda special cleaning that the dealership has to do.

Not any problems with the DPF that weren't dealership induced. The only problem I've had at all was the throttle control valve went bad at 50k. The dealer couldn't figure it out because it was an intermittent problem and decided to put a flash on it. Only problem was it was a flash for a pickup. My truck is a Cab and Chassis. Big difference, the emission system and engine setup is entirely different. It stopped all regins and plugged the DPF up within 75 miles. Took it to another dealer and finally figured out what the first had done and got it fixed. Found the problem, (throttle control valve) replaced it and have had no problems since. I'm at 104,572 miles right now. I'm a hotshot driver and pull a 40 ft gooseneck in the oilfields every day. Nothing in my book about having the DPF cleaned at 100k.

Somewhere I read in 8-lug magazine that it has to be done then. A neighbor has a LMM here its a 3500 utility bed truck. One of those one's that go up and down the interstate and work on big rigs. He's close to 120k miles maybe more by now and he had no issues with the DPF either. He pretty much spends the day up and down I-40 from one corner of the state to the other. Course with that many hwy miles I guess his truck has a very small chance of a plugged DPF due to constant freeway driving. My truck has performed flawlessly but I am just so tempted to remove the DPF for the sole fact is the fellow members here claim 3-5mpg increase. With diesel being 3.30 a gallon thats quite a bit extra $$$ for me.
