Does anyone know what the part number is offhand? And is their different part # for deisels and gassers? I got a couple numbers off a another site but want to make sure its right. A guy said to match a code off the Torsion bar to what he had posted. These are the numbers....15528965 & 15598966 for a 3/4 Duramax. And I guess most of you are happy with the Bilstein shocks, are they pricey?

This is an index of the torsion bar keys that GM has for the T-Bars. As far as I can tell 90% of our trucks come with the purple coded keys:

GM Part # Angle Color Code
15045171 4 DEGREES PURPLE
15657374 9 DEGREES BLUE
15603963 12 DEGREES ORANGE
15592573 14 DEGREES GREEN
15592574 18 DEGREES WHITE

You can get these from here (gmdieseltech.com/)

ORU(Off Road Unlimited) has keys that crank up 2 inches but they charge $60 for them. Are all the key's that lift 2 inches the same or are there different ones. To me it looks all the same, how much can you actually change those things? Another thing, ORU sells the Bilsteins that are 2 inches longer(same valving 366/240) than the OEM replacement Bilsteins for our HD's. Maybe that's why they have a better ride. Thanks.

...ORU sells the Bilsteins that are 2 inches longer(same valving 366/240) than the OEM replacement Bilsteins for our HD's.I have been trying to get my hands on a set of that particular Bilstein for a month now and NOBODY has them. They are on back order and will not be available for a while as I understand it. More importantly the valving you mentioned is correct for that shock but the valving is NOT the same as the OE replacement shocks Bilstein offers.

I just ordered a pair of the green keys from the local dealer the other day. I probably got hosed though, they were $56 for the pair. Still cheaper than ORU, the last time I checked they were $70 unless they went down. But than after shipping it'd be bout $80. The complete kit they have is a bit pricey, thinks its around $400 with all 4 shocks. Is that a good price for the Bilsteins with the keys?

dmaxalliTech..... If i install the green keys on my already lifted truck, does this change the placement in which the T bars are installed? When i put my stockers back in after finishing my lift there was no indexing. I guess my ? is, do the keys give me the same tension, but with less strain on the bar? Or does the strain increase, just more thread on the adjusting bolt showing?

Why do you never hear anyone using the white keys!
And will any key fit any year GM bar such as an 04 on a 99?
Also I wanted more lift on my 99 suburban (1500) should I install a set of 3/4 or 1 ton t bars?

My 1994 2500 came factory with green keys, so I ordered white keys in an effort to raise it a little. I will let you know if it works out as soon as I get them in.

I've been wanting to lift the front of my 1995 1/2 ton some more. Anyone think the white keys would work for me?

Finally got around to installing my White torsion bar keys in my 94 3/4 ton. Worked pretty slick. I started with green keys factory and swapping the white keys in I was able to raise the front 2.25 inches from 36.25" to 38.5" with the adjuster bolt turned in about half way. I also lifted the rear by 2" so I have a slight rake about 1/4 inch which looks good, looks a lot more like a 4x4 now!

I guess I should also mention that the difference in the green keys and white keys is only 4 degrees.

Hey Kurt,

I am not sure if the whites will work for you or not, but what I did was call the dealer with my VIN and asked them what came stock then went to the chart earlier in this thread and went to the next key up, which in my case was the white one. I guess it just depends on what you have for a stock key and bars. My guess is that if you try to make too big of a jump over stock that you will either have no adjustment downward (maxed out) or you will not be able to even get them loaded.

However I am in no way an expert at all. Case in point is that I had to buy two full sets of parts before I had the right parts to lift my truck 2 inches. I Live and learn and pay for it I guess...
