I have searched on this BB and others and read alot about hacking the Onstar system to use the GPS part of it, but I want to use the 3 watt booster part of it. The first question would be if my 2005 2500HD has a digital or analog Onstar cellular system. Also where is it and has anyone tied into it to use the hands free setup and 3 watt booster but with a handheld cell phone????

i can hopefully help you with the first question. from what i have read at the onstar site you can tell a dual mode system (digital/analog) by when you push the white dot / phone button to make a call you can say dial whoever all at once no pause, my analog(digital ready) system requires me to say dial and then wait for prompts. another way to tell would be to press the onstar button and when a operator comes on they can tell you what equipment you have. your other questions i do not know maybee someone else will know:o

Thanks Peekok! Any other ideas on the Amp? Is it a seperate unit or is it all one unit. Thanks in advance.

The older trucks (02 and older) used Motorola transceivers and could possibly have been modified or hacked. The 03 and newer truck use proprietary GM transceivers so you won't be able to do much with it.
