I've got a friend who has a Leer truck shell for his 1998 Chevy 1500 ext. cab short bed 2-wheel drive truck. I would like to know if it will fit my 2003 truck? Profile shows description of my truck. Any help on this one.

I use an older body pickup truck shell. It does not seal against the rear window of the cab.But the dogs dont seem to mind.

The shell fits good side to side.I have a shortbed. At the front of the shell the boot is just alittle to short.I do not know if they make a bigger boot but that would fix it.I was thinking of taking the boot off anyways just because I have seen what they do to the paint!

I wanted to do this very same thing once. The measurements are really close. The main problem is that the tail gate on the newer trucks curves out while the older trucks tailgate is straight. The rear window will not be able to close properly. If this isn't a problem to you, the only other issue is that the shell from the older truck will not be as high as your cab by about 1.5 inches. I came close to buying one off of a 1995 Chevy. The rear window thing was the problem. Just my 2 cents...
