I changed out my Bose 6 disc for a GM Nav unit over christmas. I have a buddy with the single disc non bose radio. Will my old radio work in his truck? I don't know if he has the bose amp because he has the bench seat in the front.

Yes, your 6disc will work in his truck, provided its a 2003-2007 Classic and its not a Work Truck model. The dealer will just have to program it for the appropriate speaker/cab size. Keep in mind that they usually dont do this sort of thing, so they may not know how to do it.

This is the programming I think will work.

Tom why wont a work truck work? As far as I know it shouldnt be any different?

The way I understood it, a work truck BCM wouldnt support the uplevel radios. Hey, if I'm wrong, it sure wouldnt be the first time.

It works, I put one in a friends 06 half ton work truck. BUT we had to get it programmed, and the idiot dealer could only figure out how to program it for bose...so he doesnt have very much volume, but it does work......I didnt know if there was something in the BCM that maybe prevented the radio from being programmed correctly (non-bose) or not, thats why I asked.

so, whats the diff between a work truck and a regular truck (i was going to say cab-chassis, but who makes a 1500 cab-chassis?)
