i have just purchased a new duramax lly,at what build date did this engine get the new power rating with 605 lb's of torque. thank you

it started with the LLY, some very early 04's were still LB7, i believe the build dates were after Jan xx ?? the 05 LLY was the first to have the 605 but im not sure there was much change to achieve that #

The early LLY, All 04 are rated at 590 ibs torque. 05 are 605 ibs torque

The rating change is all on paper. They use identical PCM calibrations and hard parts, between the 590/605 trucks. No change.

I agree it is all on paper. But, My 05 LLY Feels better than my previous 04 LLY. Don't know why. 15lbs. shouldn't be noticable if it wasn't. F.W.I.W.

I can, however, feel the difference between the 04- early 05 calibration and the reflash. Maybe your 05 has the current calibration, and your 04 didn't?

Your right! It was one the early 04 LLY's. I ordered the 04, Oct. '03. Didn't get until end of Feb 04.

I have August built 05 Crew cab dually, dynoed on my Superflow at 244 hp 444 torque.
I did the reflash and redynoed at 252 hp 460 torque.
260 miles and 420 miles on odometer when dynoed.
So if you have an 04 or early 05 the reflash sets them to 605 flywheel torque.

In the warranty period 3/36 it is done on GM's nickel. Per my stealer any updates done after 36k miles is done on our nickel, or more accurately our $65.

Wonder when they changed? Mine was built in September of 04... I drove a few on test drives before I got mine, and I swear mine felt stronger then them, but it was prob just me...
