ok i have no clue where to put this.

ok my uncle got a 2000 gmc 1500 ext cab 6 foot bed.
i started talking to him about the poor mans lift i will be doing and well he is very interested in the same thing i am doing.
my question is
1 will the t-bars on a 1500 crank high anough to fit 33-34's?
if not what "keys" do i use? will 2500 keys fit?
will he need/want new shocks? he doesnt travel allot and drives big trucks all day. so will he need new shocks bad or can he wait till the spring for new shocks?

Try GMfullsize.com or fullsizechevy.com they have tons of info on the little gassers...

BlueOx03 gives good advice on other websites to check out.

2500HD keys actually have less indexing than what is on his 1500. He will want the Ford keys to run 285s (33s).

I think that the 1500 series already has the green keys in it. Not sure if you can turn them up high enough. Although I have seen some Z-71's cruising around with 33-35 inch tires on them with what appeared to be just turned up torsion bars and no lift. Might want to install a body lift and then you will have enough room to run just about anything you want. You can get a body lift and install it yourself for about $300 bucks...

IIRC, the 1/2 tons use the Ford torsion keys to get more lift without cranking. Similar to using the 1/2 ton green keys in our trucks for additional front lift.

The ones I used on my 1500 were like ford keys but I got them from tsliftkits.com along with some 2 inch blocks. Fit 285s with no trimming or anything. I also ran some rancho rsx shock that were longer, otherwise the stock shocks would be torn apart as they are way too short. You could get away with spacing the stock shocks depending how high you cranked it.
