I showed up in my hometown a week before we were to do the swap. Figuring I had a new trans ready, I loaded the PPE level 5 for the week. Everyone on this site wasn't kidding when they said that level will screw up the trans. I drove level 4 for a long time with no problems. By the end of the week it was shifting weird/hard even at part/light throttle and limping a lot. Of course that race with a beefed up cummins 2 wheel drive didn't help any (that's another story).

It took a couple of nights to get everything done. The main problem was having a small shop, no lift, and my cognito kit w/35's. We swapped on my stock wheels/tires, and it cleared by a few inches. For the actual trans swap, we had to remove the lift support bars, driver's side torsion bar, and driver's side wheel. Then the trans slid right out on the jack. We also did the MA pump rub kit while we had everything out. After it was running, we found a stretch of almost empty road to train the computer. The early shifts weren't fun, but they got much better. I put 400 miles on it, then loaded the truck/trailer back up and came to Dallas last night. It did a great job towing. Here are a few pics of the trans, tight shop, and what I was towing:

Good job tackling it on your own. Enjoy the power.
