Before people start calling me an idiot, this question ONLY arrises due to the fact my hardware store didn't have the 1/8" NPT tap I needed to install the EGT probe for my J/A. However, after staring at the package from Kennedy Diesel since Thursday eve. I've been chomping at the bit to my new toy. :D

Can I install the Attitude monitor and set it up w/o having the EGT probe installed or will it freak?? I'm not going to go tearing up the road w/ the thing set on 5 or anything, I just have the time tonight to do the install and would like to do as much as possible.

You may not be able to. When I had problems with my Edge egt probe my juice would not work when it was over a certain reading. This may also be the case when it is not reading temps. Unless you hook up the probe and just attach it out of the way so it is simply reading amiant temps. But then it will not work if the engine temps are not high enough also and I am not sure if this is also connected with the egt's.

there's no connection between egts and engine temp as the engine temp is monitored throught the bail harness connection. you just have to adjust the settings on the monitor for egt alert to off / and set it to a high temp so it doesnt do anything. does that make sense ? it will definitely work and wont have any adverse effects as i drove it that way for quite some time and even with guages and edge with no egt probe and no problems at all except for the fact that i dont like the edge on for LLY, but thats just MHO

Have had the BD EZ AMP 30-90 HP box have run in AZ on level 2 hauling a 38 foot Toyhauler with three sportsman quads in the back around 16K. Just kept my foot off of the pedal. Pyrometer coming next week just for piece of mind. $6K for a motor is a lot and would really piss of my wife.

If you are not pulling you should have no problems at all. The speed limiter on juice will keep you from doing crazy things. I look at my EGTs displayed on the Attitude for curosity only and I don't drive like a Grandma. I also use more hp boxes.
uh...I don't see a tranny upgrade in your sig. so use caution on the higher horspower levels of juice.
