Is there a better quality carrier bearing (driveshaft) than factory available? The rubber on mine is done.

I went to Napa a couple of days to replace mine. NAPA said they did not have a carrier bearing for anything after 00, and that it was a dealer item. Dealer wants way too much $ and did not have it. I got a BCA number off another parts site(HB88107A), and had Napa cross it to theirs, which was a BCA with Napa #. Took it home, and it looked to be a smaller id than the shaft. I measured it with my trust measuring caliper and it did have a smaller hole, too small to even be pressed. So, unless I can come up with another brand with another part #, it appears GM is it. Cheapest I found was about $70. Curious minds want to know if there is another answer.

I had the same problem, but had to go to dealer unfortuanately. Make sure if thats the route you go to take your old one with you, the first one i got wasnt even close to the one i needed, needless to say I spent to much extra time chasing parts down.... and way to much money!!

Just replaced mice a local driveline shop. Got all new joints too. Try Spicer. They're made by Dana. I think thats what they put in as a carrier bearing because I wanted it so.... Just a thought fellas.

Where did you get the Spicer parts?

I bought one from Oreilly auto parts. It wasn't much better than the stock one. It didn't have the rubber on it though. I got rid of the 2 piece driveshaft all together and put a one piece on. good luck.

If you get your spicer # off your driveline, I found one at Sixstates Distributing. They are in the west I know but they are a good place to get parts. I paid $70 for it .

Thanks for the replys. I ordered one from the stealer today. Napa said they had a part number for it but no stores or the warehouse had it. They would have had to special order it.
