I haven't purchased a tuning system yet but when I take my truck down and install all of my mods I will really need one. I'm in a delima because I will need Allison tuning capability but the best guy that I know of to tune my truck afterwards is Allen Nelson and he uses HP Tuners. He's close and one of my brothers lives in San Antonio so a trip to him would be no biggie.

I've seen hints that HP Tuners is running beta testing on Allison tuning but no official word. Is this true and if so how is is looking for a release date. I'm wanting to rework my truck by this spring.

I had HP Tuners for a twin turbo GTO. They were ahead of EFI Live at the time on the LS2 engines. I looked at them for the diesel, but they do not appear to have as much support or to be as far along as EFI Live on the Duramaxes. Just the sheer number of tuners using EFI Live vs HP Tuners had me go EFI Live.

HP Tuners does make great software, I just think they aren't caught up at this time with the other tuning options.

I am pretty sure the beta for the Allison is going to be starting in mid January. I would rather have a bug free program then have them rush out something just to get it out. I think it is a nice program to have. True, they are behind on the diesel market because they came out later. Just because something comes out first does not mean it is always better. Or we all would be driving fords still.

Allison tuning is in the works. Give it some time and it will be available. Hp is a step behind EFI but once word gets out about HP it should be great. I Recently got my HP and my buddy has EFI.

I can't give you an exact timeline but I can say Chris is working on it & hopes to be in beta very soon.
