I just found out quadzilla has the ability to remove the dpf. How has this been working for those who have it, and how many miles?

quad has worked great so far for myself. I removed the DPF a couple of months ago and so far no issues. Fuel milelage has also vastly improved.I have towed with the 50hp no DPF tune also with no issues.

I already downloaded the NON-DPF program(s). Exhaust should be here next week. :)

I will update the programmer after the exh is on and let it breathe.

sounds good, that is what I needed. Do you ever get down to Alb.? If so I would like to take a ride in your truck with the quadzilla.

I am really pleased with the quad. No CEL or codes with the egr unplugged and 4" straight. No issues yet to date. 70hp seems to be plenty for highway, only tune I have ran.

I'm confused please Help..... I was considering buying the quad stealth 2 and removing the DPF. then install a turbo back exhuast, but I had a conversation with a buddy of mine discussing future warranty issues that it might be a problem once I remove the DPF and such.....
So the next thing he said was to get the new Banks six gun which does not requires the removal of the DPF and still MAYBE still keep the warranty. which one should you guys think or recommend doing?????? Thanks for your oppinion

None of the programmers require you to remove the DPF. It is just an option. If you run higher programs with the DPF, you'll be going into regeneration mode more often.

That's one of the nicest things about the Stealth. If you want the DPF, load those programs. If you want NO DPF, just load those. Totally flexible.

If you change suspension (lift or lower) you technically void the warranty. If you change the wheels, you technically void the warranty. Anytime you change an item from stock configuration, they can refuse to warranty an item RELATED to what you have changed.

Exhaust is one of the first things to get changed on most trucks. I have not heard of any warranty refusals for that. Several peeps here have already been to the dealership without DPFs and had no trouble.

It CAN happen, but probably won't. You can always change it back. Exhaust is about a 30-45 minute dealio to swap out.

The Quad unit has been our top seller for the LMM. It is tough to beat for price, function, and flexibility.

That's one of the golden treasures of this web site...

It's tough figuring out what to do by asking people as everyone has their own opinion and that's when the confusion starts.

What I have done since finding this site, is to read, read, read everything I can about whatever it is I'm thinking about doing. There will be times when you read conflicting info, and that's when you have to read some more, and figure out what makes sense to you. Then you can make your decision.

There are so many really smart people (myself excluded:D) posting on this site, if you read enough, it eventually seems to make some sense.

Hope this helps...

Thanks again, it does help to read about everybody's oppinions and that's what I like about this forum. And yes I did talk to the service manager from the dealership about the DPF removal and told him that the reason behind it to remove it was for fuel economy purposes and he said that the warranty will be and can voided becasue of this. Well what to do?? what to do??

that is the question.

That sucks! My dealer, no lie, told me "Good, 90% of the LMM's I see are for DPF BS problems, reflashing the computer with updates, and clogged filters, get rid of it. I will work on it as long as you be honest and tell me what you have done to the truck." Maybe locate another dealer AMA D-Max, if possible?

:DUpdate:

I finally found a dealer in the area that said to me that the DPF removal was kind of common in this part of the country and also that he wouldn't have a problem with it as long as I don't go too crazy about the programming and settings of the truck:cool2: I'll remove the DPF and install a new turbo back exhaust as soon as I can and buy the new PPE or quad programmer.:grd:
