I get air sucking into the gas tank when i take the cap off could this be why it hesitates when i take off it only does it within the first 5min of driving then it seems to go away untill the truck sits overnight
thanks
Mine does the same thing. Your fuel system is under pressure and it is normal. You will read differing posts on here that talk about it. As the fuel in your tank goes down your fuel cap will either allow air to come in or no air to escape (I can't remember which it is). You should always hear air when you have been driving for a period of time because the fuel system builds pressure.
If your truck is hesitating fill out the diagnostic questionaire so everyone can see what is working and what isn't. Hesitating can be a number of problems such as fuel filter, LP, PMD, IP, tank sock, etc.

I couldn't locate the thread I remember reading about this but it did say that a small amount of vacuum or a slight wisp of air movement when removing the Fuel cap was ok . If it was a long or drastic air suction this is not good and you most likely have some kind of restriction. Wish I could help more maybe more detail would help .Oh and someone is gonna give you sh@$$ about saying Gas in tank if its a diesel lol , just beat them to it .

so there should be a vacuum on the diesel tank
so there should be a vacuum on the diesel tank
yes. The lower your fuel gets in the tank the more air you will hear.
