i just posted something similar. occitiger, a guy on this site, recommended the code reader 700 from Kragen autoparts. I havent yet but I plan on picking one up tomorrow. Word is that theyre only about 100 bucks after the mail in rebate. I havent heard anything else but ill let you know how my adventure goes.

thanks. Since you have a Stage2 T-Type, chances are you have
some sort of laptop diagnostics capabilty. If so, then
you might check out the Explorer-OBD2 software from
Alex Peper. I would NOT say its user friendly, however,
it is fairly cheap (~$100). IF your wife's car is OBD-2
compliant, it should work on it as well.

Download the LB7 enhanced realtime data s/w too if you do decide to
get this. I think Alex may be working on the LLY version
but I'm not positive.

The website is; http://www.obd-2.com/#download

thanks terry. the stage 2 t-type is not what you might think it is.
it no longer has the tubo v6 it came with, it has a 464 cu in. 455
buick v8 with stage 2 alluminum heads, 650 hp with no computor.
wifes car does have a compliant obd2 port. i will check out your link.
thanks.

I have a fairly new Actron CP9150 that I will take $275 delivered. Check there site on it. It does virtually every type computer out there. I think it does real time data also. Comes in a nice case and all the adapters. I am going to list it on e-bay soon.

Check out the soon available INNOVA® 3110 CanOBD2™ with CAN capabilities, SW updates will follow soon. Looks promising to me. Cost is 229 $ from Tool Source its a very good capable unit IMHO

i just picked up an OBD2 from kragen, nothing good or fancy but you get what you pay for. It does what I need though, tells me all the codes and works on almost any vehicle 96 and up, they say. Who's they?

The website is; http://www.obd-2.com/#downloadI just ordered this as Alex confirmed the software, coupled with the LB7 enhanced data file is capable of reading the injector balance rates and transmission data. I'm most interested in viewing/capturing the balance rate info periodically so I figured $100 or so was 1/3 the cost of a handheld scanner/tuner (I.e. Predator) since I already have a laptop. I'll post more info later once I get the software/cable.

Yes, it can reset codes. I'm anxious to try it out ...got spoiled having my father in laws Tech II for a year! The software program is very sophisticated ...has lots of features. You can record real-time data and play it back, similar to the Tech II snapshots. Has a dashboard-like screen where you can display several gauges from 22+ data sources ...can also export data to excel, etc. I'm very curious how it will display balance rates ...but got verbal acknowledgement from the author that it will display balance rates in mm ...just like TechII, Predator, etc.
