Been busy for quite a while and missed a number of your threads about clutch problems (Thanks to Peter for letting me know about this!)

Anyhow, if you have problems and place a post on THIS thread then I will get an email note not about a post and will try to respond ASAP.

Some members have seen my posts about clutch problems since 2003. I was the first guy to work with Peter Pyfer of SBC for an aftermarket Duramax Flywheel/Clutch kit. I also did the original testing and sales of their kits for the Duramax. Anyhow, if you are having a problem let me know. I like to help solve problems.

FYI some of the very early clutch problem threads had some posts about having the DMF replaced many times. There were two guys who posted having theirs replaced 7 times and the other had his replaced 11 times! The DMF will not hold diesel torque.

If you do have a SBC aftermarket flywheel and clutch and the clutch is wearing out let me know. The kits are designed for specific use. If it is used for something other than it was planned for, let me know so I can try to help.

and there are some of us that just have to deal with the problems because of no job and no money to get a clutch. if there is anyone out there that wants to donate a SBC SDC I would be much obliged. :D:D:D

John-
I went out to fire up my 2003 DMAX ZF-6 this morning and the clutch didn't want to cooperate. I've had the truck for a week! My sweet deal just turned into an ok deal. The truck wouldn't go into gear without some serious coaxing. I limped her home from work and will be dropping her off at my buddy's Tranny shop this morning. The dealer changed the flywheel to a solid design @ 30k in 2004. The fluid level is fine and the truck showed no signs of this impending doom! I've seen other guys on here describe their pedal as being high. Mine was more middle to low in height. The South Bend seems to be the overwhelming favorite for replacement. Should I also replace the flywheel even though it already has been done? The truck has 114k on it now. My buddy uses mostly Luk clutches on these types of applications, but he is a reasonable man. His name is Jimmy and his # is 860-633-9111. My # is 860-778-4470. If you could give one of us a call and give us the scoop on the South Bend, I would greatly appreciate it.
